Xbox Live is back after an outage lasting several hours

Many Xbox owners couldn’t sign in for multiplayer, streaming, or other online features on Tuesday afternoon and into the evening.

Xbox has settled a far and wide blackout that kept players from interfacing with Xbox Live, playing web-based games, downloading games, or involving different administrations for a few hours. “Clients ought to never again be experiencing issues marking into Xbox Live and benefits,” Xbox says in a post on X. “Much obliged to you for your understanding, game on!”

Issues with Xbox Live appeared to have begun around 2 PM ET, with Downdetector reports starting to ascend around that time. At around 3 PM ET, Xbox said it was “mindful that a few clients have been separated from Xbox Live” and that the organization began “examining.”

In the interim, its status page said Xbox’s record and profile administrations experienced a significant blackout. “You will be unable to sign in to your Xbox profile, might be disengaged while endorsed in, or have other related issues,” the notification read. “Highlights that require sign-in like most games, applications, and social movement will not be accessible.”

At around 4:10 PM ET, Xbox said its examination was “taking surprisingly lengthy” and didn’t determine the issue until around 9 PM ET. It’s as yet not satisfactory what caused the hours-long blackout. The Edge solicited more data from Microsoft yet didn’t quickly hear back.
